Vanpool Info
Why VanPool?
With gas prices on the constant rise, it's getting more and more expensive to make the daily commute to work. And the additional wear and tear on your vehicle causes increased maintenance and repair. When you add in parking fees, you're spending a lot of money just getting to work. Wouldn't it be nice to cut those costs in half? Or more?
With VanPool from Ticket To Ride, you can drastically reduce the cost of transportation. A VanPool consists of 7-15 commuters who live in the same general area and ride to and from work together in a fully equipped passenger van. Each participant pays a monthly fare and the more people you have in your VanPool, the less you pay. You just sit back, relax and ride to work. You'll have extra time to get ready for the workday, chat with co-workers or even take a nap without having to fight rush hour traffic.
How much does it cost?

If you want to save even more money, VanPool drivers receive extra benefits. Drivers pay no monthly fare and have access to the van for personal use. VanPool drivers are designated on a volunteer basis.
Of course, passenger safety is the number one concern at Ticket To Ride. Drivers must possess a valid Kentucky or Indiana driver's license and be approved by VanPool's insurance provider.
Can My Employer Help?
Talk to your employer about VanPooling as a low-cost alternative to driving alone. Your employer can subsidize your VanPool costs and deduct the costs as an ordinary business expense. One easy way for your employer to subsidize is through TARC's Commuter Check program. Commuter Check vouchers can be purchased by your employer in either $15, $20, $23 or $28 denominations and given to you to submit with your monthly vanpool invoice. For assistance on getting started, call the Ticket To Ride office at (502) 267-5400.
